Sufism Wisdomism…

There is some kiss we want with our whole lives, the touch of spirit on the body…

Written by Jonnas and me…extreme circumstances led us to withdraw just about every dollar out of our account. Had $12 to our names…so we said “fuck it…let’s buy a jug of wine”. So we did. Then we drank it, watched ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ and wrote a song. The lyrics are a combination of general musings, personal histories, and the fear that my dog is gay.

Grass Was Never Blue:

I never really liked the first day of school

I always wondered why grass was never blue,

and then there’s waking up alone reaching out for you.

My piggy bank was spent on a jug of wine,

my skin gets really dry in the winter time,

and I think my dog is gay if that’s possible…

You ever take a chance on waking up,

when you’re so scared you shake, until its enough,

to embrace but not to face, when you’re young its frightening

when you’re old its exactly the same..

Like a choice you made without a choice, to make the one you wish you could change…

So now just settle down, cuz the words mean nothing..

Now I don’t like to talk about politics,

organized religion is playing tricks,

and the licorice thats black always makes me sick.

Wouldn’t it be cool if we all could fly?

If heaven is a joke I won’t be surprised…

My intentions are the same but their in disguise…

You ever take a chance on waking up,

when you’re so scared you shake, until its enough,

to embrace but not to face, when you’re young its frightening

when you’re old its exactly the same..

Like a choice you made without a choice, to make the one you wish you could change…

So now just settle down, cuz the words mean nothing..

I’m barely getting by with the best I can,

my father used to claim he was Superman,

my mother was so kind for putting up with it,

knowing all the time he was full of shit.

I wonder what it was before it was sand,

I wonder what it’s like to live in Japan,

and I wonder when the world will become a brand…

to me…

You ever take a chance on waking up,

when you’re so scared you shake, until its enough,

to embrace but, not to face, when you’re young its frightening

when you’re old its exactly the same..

Like a choice you made without a choice to make the one you wish you could change…

So now just settle down, cuz the words mean nothing..

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club

As Harold took a bite of Bavarian sugar cookie, he finally felt as if everything was going to be ok. Sometimes, when we lose ourselves in fear and despair, in routine and constancy, in hopelessness and tragedy, we can thank God for Bavarian sugar cookies. And, fortunately, when there aren’t any cookies, we can still find reassurance in a familiar hand on our skin, or a kind and loving gesture, or subtle encouragement, or a loving embrace, or an offer of comfort, not to mention hospital gurneys and nose plugs, an uneaten Danish, soft-spoken secrets, and Fender Stratocasters, and maybe the occasional piece of fiction. And we must remember that all these things, the nuances, the anomalies, the subtleties, which we assume only accessorize our days, are effective for a much larger and nobler cause. They are here to save our lives. I know the idea seems strange, but I also know that it just so happens to be true. And, so it was, a wristwatch saved Harold Crick.
– Stranger Than Fiction
I didn’t give my life to politics in order to say that I was part of a generation that succeeded in cutting the tariff on the import of processed coffee to 27.3%. I want to be a member of that great generation that for the first time had in its power to wipe out poverty, and did so. Are we alone in this? Or will someone else stand beside us?
– The Girl In The Cafe
I do not know how he came to be homeless…it’s not my place to judge. No one…NO ONE should go hungry…

I do not know how he came to be homeless…it’s not my place to judge. No one…NO ONE should go hungry…

Everyone in life is gonna hurt you, you just have to figure out which people are worth the pain.
